Peter assembles his ragtag team of seven – Neal, Mozzie, Sara, Diana, Jones, Elizabeth and himself – to perform a con. The season premiere, “Burke’s Seven,” finds everyone chipping in their services to help clear Peter’s name. I wish that I could take him everywhere with me when I sing.” “He had such a look of just unconditional support when he would look up at me when I was singing and it really bolstered me. “He’s the best fake piano player I’ve ever seen in my life,” added Bomer. It was just one of those moments like, ‘Oh, wow, that’s neat.’ Then Billy Dee Williams at the piano doing an amazing job faking it.” The whole crew just went into a spontaneous applause. But when he and Diahann sang that song, everybody on set just got quiet because we had to rehearse it. Fun singing around the set, just being goofy. It was a real honor to get to sing with her.”ĭeKay had nothing but praise for his co-star’s musical performance. “It was an incredibly surreal moment,” he said, adding, “Diahann is obviously a legend and incredible. Williams’ character will give Neal “a glimpse into the world Neal would have if he continued on a more crooked path,” revealed Bomer, who sings “One For My Baby (and One More For the Road)” with Williams and Carroll in the February episode. Hilarie Burton as Sara Ellis, insurance investigator who helps Neal and Peter hunt down Adler, all the while getting closer to Neal Diahann Carroll as June, Neal’s landlord and the widow of an ex-con herself Richard Schiff as Andrew Stanzler, a businessman who Peter and Neal believe may be the cause of blackouts in NY, which forces them to swap identities to solve the case Paul Blackthorne as a mystery man who sets Peter up for a crime he didn’t commit Billy Dee Williams, an old friend of June’s late husband, who shows up looking for more than a trip down memory lane Ross McCall, an old rival of Neal’s who returns and now needs his help with Adam Goldberg as a photographer who gets in the middle Gloria Votsis returns as Neal’s old acquaintance Alex Hunter, who holds an important key to the mystery of the music box and Alexandra Daddario as Neal’s love, Kate. Other upcoming guest stars from USA’s press release: McCarthy plays the pivotal role of Neal’s mentor Vincent Adler. The former Brat Packer has already appeared on Monk and Royal Pains and will next been seen on White Collar in a flashback heavy episode, airing Jan. Guest stars galore and singing! USA Network must really like Andrew McCarthy. That chemistry was very much apparent during a conference call with members of the press, during which DeKay and Bomer shared about what’s to come on White Collar and even sang a little (sadly, that’s not in this post). It’s not very often that you can have two characters just sitting and talking exposition, as Neal and Peter do in episode 2, and still find it interesting to watch. The new season continues to capitalize on DeKay and Bomer’s fantastic, easy chemistry. The series has found its groove in the push and pull interplay between FBI Agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) and con artist extraordinaire Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer). The first two episodes of the new season are so good, White Collar has surpassed the increasingly confusing, although still enjoyable Burn Notice as my favorite USA Network show. to finish off the back half of its terrific second season. USA Network’s White Collar returns Tuesday, Jan.
